Job Description About the Role : Reporting the German DCO Director, you will have responsibility for the operations of our Data Centres in Frankfurt, Germany. This role is responsible for the effective execution of the lifecycle activities in our Data Centers: Build, Live Operations, and Decommissioning. You will be managing ICs (both directly and via matrix management) while dealing with multiple facets that encompass operating in a globally consistent manner. You will manage the Data Centres & OCI infrastructure in Frankfurt ensuring that all KPIs are met, and operations run smoothly whilst continuing to build new sites. Candidate will be responsible for : - Providing leadership on our Frankfurt Data Centre Campuses. - Working with geographically distributed teams and contributing to the success of Oracle. - Coaching and mentoring individual contributors across the organization. - Growing the team by recruiting and retaining top talent. - Delivering large-scale projects on time with high quality. - Collaborating and working effectively with various teams across the organization at both a technical and business levels. - Ensuring all sites are delivered to a standardized, high-quality bar, and this quality is sustained, day on day, week on week, year on year. - Holding others to account as needed to ensure we meet our quality & delivery goals. - Contributing to global objectives to move the organization forward. You should be able to dive deep into any part of the stack and higher-level system interactions. You should have a demonstrated track record working in the industry, already having worked at hyperscale in previous positions. You should be fully versed in Data Centre build, live operations management, change control and be familiar with LEAN and 5S. Detailed Description and Job Requirements Working with world-class global teams to implement and support cutting-edge Oracle technology in Cloud Data Centres requires an experienced manager who can thrive in a complex matrix environment. This role has a high focus on delivery, operational excellence and project management and the skills required to be successful in all three of these areas. To maximize the quality of delivery and reliability of our sites you will: - Work across multiple LOB effectively, negotiating and bringing together stakeholders & teams to ensure success for Oracle. - Negotiating and working with local vendors to deliver a strategy to drive performance and meet quality expectations. This encompasses LV cabling vendors through to Colocation partners. - Work closely with Human Resources within your region to ensure the best possible relationship and care for your Oracle employees. - Focus and prioritize appropriately on what is most important to Oracle at any given time as priorities can shift quickly. - Drive scalability practices to ensure efficiencies across your organization and space. - Communicate and share best practices, ideas, and initiatives outside your region; Be receptive to new ideas originating outside your space. Project work will also be a crucial part of the engagement, you will also: - Effectively supervise and resource multi-functional projects and/or systems. - Manage expectations, implementation approach, deliverables and acceptance testing criteria, whilst appropriately managing risk. - Driving the delivery of improvements. - Reporting upwards on progress, issues and solutions. - Operationalising sites after build complete to Oracle standards. You should be able to: - Be proactive at all times, resolving issues before they become critical. - Work independently without escalation or supervision. - Manage upwards effectively, with succinct, clear communication, and a solution-first approach. - Manage individual contributors where you do not have direct authority over them. - Resolve conflicts without escalation, by negotiation, understanding and mediating as necessary. - Lead by example at all times. - Be continuously learning about new technology advantages related to Data Centres (e.g. power density, cooling, cabling, critical load management) a SME in at least one area. What you need to know to be successful in this role : - 5 years of proven Data Centre leadership and management at hyperscale levels. - In-depth knowledge of the Data Center ecosystem. (cooling, electrical, networking, structured cabling, etc.) - 5 years or more of Vendor relationship management and negotiations. - Deep experience with distributed, highly scalable, multi-node environments. - Written and Spoken fluency in English & German - Strong multi-culture awareness. - Degree educated in a related scientific or engineering discipline.
