Job Description
The Senior Category Manager for ASICs, Combo Sensors, Foundries and OSATs within Cluster Electronics / Semiconductors. Global Category SEA is defining the supply strategy and negotiating with suppliers to achieve best market conditions for the own category. The Chipsets in the area of responisbility are decisve for segment cost structure, as it is reflecting quite relevant % of ECU BOM value.
To your tasks belong:
1. Drive set up of supplier pannel of new Material Group of Foundries and OSATs for Continentals COT strategy.
2. Implementing and maintaining a network within the Category and the other Categories within the Cluster organization to share competence and best practices, Coaching, developing, and supporting the team and employees.
3. Develops a respective technology and supplier capacity strategy over global suppliers’ panel:Drives the strategy definition process with cross-functional partners.Ensures that Continentals requirements are reflected in the strategy.Document and implement the strategy in all Business Areas worldwide.
4. Conducting market analysis
5. Actively influence the sourcing process through:Supplier selectionNegotiation of prices, nonconformance costs etc. and closure of contracts with suppliers using negotiation concepts (like Advanced negotiation concept)Applying Advanced Negotiation Concepts.
6. Leading an international team of ~6 category purchasers
7. Driving annual negotiations to constantly improve the cost situation of Continental Automotive in case of escalation.
8. Ensure in time implementation of correct data in the respective IT-systems, Controlling of Target Achievements
9. Supporting re-design in cost reduction programs
Qualifications
10. Academic degree in Business Administration, Engineering or comparable qualification
11. Procurement Process and Product Life Cycle (PLC) knowledge, preferable in semiconductor industry
12. Several years of working experience in the above-mentioned area
13. Purchasing Management (including standards of Quality system requirements, policies, and norms (IATF 19649/ VDA ;
14. Technical understanding of specific components
15. Risk Management experience
16. Commercial knowledge, includes contract law etc.
17. Business fluent English language skills (spoken and written)
18. Project management skills, tools, and techniques
19. Entrepreneur mindset & Management skills, tools and techniques which ensures a strategic, profit and resulted oriented handling (Balanced Scorecard, Benchmarking, etc.)
20. Human relations skills (team skills, conflict management, open-mindedness, networking)
21. Communication skills, including Presentation and Negotiation techniques, to operate in different cultures
22. Problem-solving and decision-making tools and techniques
