Description

In this demanding role, you will lead the departments Accounting, Controlling, Human Resources, Legal and Procurement. You will be a member of the leadership team of FLOCERT, reporting to the Managing Director / CEO of the company.
An important part of the role will be to guide and support the teams in defining and implementing department strategies, based on the current FLOCERT strategy. For this, you will closely collaborate with your Director peers as well as our Supervisory Board. In addition, you will be a key contact point for our shareholder Fairtrade Labelling Organizations International e.V. (‘FI’).
Furthermore, you will be significantly involved in the further development of the company’s structures and processes through close exchange with operations, business relations as well as business and IT solutions teams.

Your responsibilities
* Manage and support the department leads of the 5 Central Service teams in their daily operations and related further development
* Competent support and sparring partner for the Managing Director as well as peer Directors in all financial, legal and commercial matters
* Ensure that the Central Services departmental strategies are aligned and consistent with the FLOCERT strategy as well as other sub-strategies
* Responsible for the preparation of regular and ad-hoc reporting to the Managing Director, the FLOCERT oversight bodies and our shareholder
* Preparation of strategic plans (e.g. budget planning, business cases, investment measures)
* Monitoring and controlling liquidity
* Definition of improvement projects and further development of existing structures and processes in Central Services
* Close cooperation with external stakeholders e.g. auditors, tax authorities or financial institutions
* Take-over predecessor’s roles in Fairtrade oversight bodies (e.g. cooperating with FLOCERT Supervisory Board and, if necessary, sub-committees, Fairtrade International Finance & Audit Committee, Fairtrade network’s Global Finance Directors Working Group)
Your qualifications, experience and skills
* University degree in business administration or law
* Profound and recent professional experience in the areas of responsibility outlined above, ideally in an international context
* Entrepreneurial mindset with strong analytical, negotiation and decision making skills
* Convincing and motivating leader with above-average intercultural and communication skills
* Great team player with a positive and pro-active attitude and a ‘getting things done’ mentality
* High affinity for business digitalization and transformation
* Experience with financial statements according to German Commercial Code (HGB), at the level of individual companies as well as on a consolidated basis
* Fluency in German and English, both verbal and written is a must, and any other additional language (e.g. Spanish) is a plus
