The Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance (FDEF) at the University of Luxembourg offers a unique academic and research environment.

The FDEF offers four Bachelor programmes, thirteen Master programmes, as well as several continuing education courses. It also includes the Doctoral School in Law and the Doctoral School in Economics and Finance. Around 2,300 students from 97 different nationalities are enrolled at the Faculty. Academic staff from different nationalities teach at the Faculty, supported by practitioners from the field, visiting scholars and guest professors.

Your role
As Senior Financial Controller, reporting to the FDEF Team Leader - Grant Management and Finance Unit, your responsibilities will be to:
* Collect, monitor, analyse, and report on financial and consolidated data in order to advise management and other budget holders on financial, execution and performance
* Prepare, together with management and other budget holders, budgets and forecasts and ensure monitoring of financial planning cycle
* Deliver accurate, timely and complete financial information that enhances/supports decision making
* Ensure coordination and alignment of financial processes
* Analyse, develop, implement and maintain financial databases, systems and procedures in line with the needs of the Faculty and the University policies and best practices
* Support periodical and ad hoc requests for analysis and reporting (quantitative and qualitative)
* Provide advice, training and support on financial matters to budget holders and other administrative staff
* Cooperate closely with the FDEF Grant Management and Partnership Development offices on externally-funded project financial matters
* Initiate, contribute to/lead improvements of working methods, processes and tools at the FDEF as well as in collaboration with the University Central Administration and Financial Controllers from other entities
Your profile
* University degree in business studies, finance or accounting
* 7 years or + of relevant work experience in a similar position
* Experience in research or academic environment is an asset
* Relevant knowledge of SAP is an asset
* Excellent knowledge of advanced functions in Excel, Power BI, etc.
* Excellent analytical skills with proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple requests from various stakeholders within tight deadlines
* Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills suitable for a multicultural environment
* Fluent in English, French and German. Luxembourgish will be considered an advantage
* Team worker, who takes own initiatives and has high motivation to work in a continuously evolving environment
