We need your commitment so that even with little things we can achieve great things for our patients. There are many possibilities open for you so that you may develop with them.
The Department of Neurology (Chair: Prof. Dr. Heinz Wiendl) at the University Hospital in Muenster, Germany, is offering a position initially limited to 3 years.
Postdoc (gn*) Single Cell / Spatial Transcriptomics in Neuro-Immunology
* Full-time with 38,50 hours
* Salary level according to salary group 13 TV-L
Job Id: 9671 - *gn=gender neutral
Overall, research in the Department of Neurology combines basic models and patient-derived specimen with cutting-edge technologies. One of our recent projects has been to better understand neuro-immunological diseases by applying single-cell technologies (e.g. PubMed IDs 32295886, and integrating them with spatial transcriptomics (e.g. PubMed ID. We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher to extend our interdisciplinary and international team. The applicant will develop and apply single-cell/nuclei and spatial transcriptomics technologies to study nervous system-associated border neuroimmunology at the Department of Neurology as part of the established research group of Prof. Dr. Meyer zu Hörste.
The Department uses various models and hosts an extensive biobank of various neuro-immunological specimen. We employ all cell and molecular biology techniques and integrate these single-cell/nuclei and spatial transcriptomics. We have built a stable platform for these techniques, and have a lively interaction with highly renowned groups in the field both nationally and internationally.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Locally implement and apply single-cell/nuclei and spatial transcriptomics
* Organizing the processing and sequencing of samples from multiple sources
Doctoral (PhD) degree in biology or a related scientific discipline
* Organized working style and willingness to work independently, but also a team player
* Experience in single-cell/nuclei or spatial transcriptomics is highly preferable
* Experience in wet-lab immunological techniques (e.g., flow cytometry) is a plus
* We are an international group, so good written and oral communication skills in English are mandatory
* German speaking skills are not required
* This is a wet-lab position so purely (bio-)informatics applications will not be considered
* Interest in developing your own research profile including the willingness to acquire independent third-party funding
We look forward to receiving your application (including your CV with names of three referees, a short letter describing your motivation to apply, and the reference code) via our online application form !
