Your Role
Zeiss Meditec, a leading provider of medical technology solutions, is seeking an experienced Electronics Architect to support our team in Oberkochen or Munich, Germany (alternatively Eindhoven, the Netherlands). As an Electronics Architect, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge electronic systems for our state-of-the-art medical robotic solutions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of groundbreaking technologies that empower healthcare professionals and improve patient outcomes. Responsibilities:
1. Electronics System Design: Lead the conceptualization, design, and architecture of electronic systems for our medical robotic platform, considering factors such as performance, safety, reliability, and manufacturability
2. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical engineers, software developers, and clinical experts, to ensure seamless integration into the overall robotic system
3. Requirements Analysis: Define and analyze electronics requirements based on product specifications and regulatory standards, translating them into robust design solutions
4. Component Selection: Research and select electronic components, sensors, processors, and other hardware components that meet the system requirements and align with the company's technology roadmap
5. Hardware Development: Oversee the development of electronic hardware, including schematic design, PCB layout, and prototype testing, while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards
6. Risk Management: Identify potential risks related to electronics design and implement mitigation strategies to ensure product reliability and safety
7. Prototyping and Testing: Collaborate with the testing and validation teams to develop testing protocols, perform functional tests, and analyze data to verify the performance and reliability of electronic systems
8. Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and reports, to support product development and regulatory submissions
9. Emerging Technologies: Stay up-to-date with advancements in electronics, medical robotics, and related fields, and apply relevant technologies to enhance product performance and features
Your Profile
10. Master's or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Robotics, or a related field
11. Proven experience (> 5-10 years) in electronics architecture, design, and development, preferably in medical device or robotics industries
12. Strong proficiency in electronic design tools, simulation software, and PCB design tools
13. Expertise in sensor integration, analog and digital circuit design, power management, and signal processing
14. Familiarity with safety and regulatory standards applicable to medical devices, such as IEC 60601
15. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex technical challenges and optimize designs for performance and reliability
16. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
17. Experience with embedded systems, FPGA programming, and real-time operating systems is a plus
18. Fluency in English and German
