Hauptaufgaben Performs a variety of supportive operational and administrative functions that involve implementation of the local recreational intramural and outdoor sports program for military personnel and their dependents requiring subject matter knowledge and experience in pertinent sports activities and program implementation. 1. Program Administration: Assists supervisor in implementation of the local intramural and outdoor company level competitive sports program planning, scheduling and operational preparation of a variety of team and individual type seasonal sport activities such as basketball, softball, baseball flag football, racquetball, tennis, combat cross country. Contacts organizational (company level) A&R officers of permanent party and lodger units as well as representatives of military organizations temporarily assigned for training purposes to inform about planned competitive company level sports activities, arouse interest and solicit participation. Call periodical sports council meetings wherein organizational sport representatives may present ideas and wishes of their activities regarding sports competition to be arranged and in which decisions regarding sports competitions to be arranged and in which decisions regarding type and time frame of execution of various, types of outdoor seasonal or intramural sport competitions are agreed upon. Provides technical guidance regarding, execution of competitive, sports events, determines technical execution of tournament type activities, i.e. single or double elimination, single or round robin type tournaments depending on type of sport activities, number of individuals or teams participating, time frame for completion, availability of facilities or officiating personnel. Elaborates final competition schedules allocating teams, time and location of competitive events, coordinates the furnishing of required referees with the Headreferee of pertinent sport activities and publishes the final schedule of competitions, leagues, tournaments and local championships to provide participant activities advance information for scheduling of pertinent organizational training and advanced planning of participation in competitive events. As operationally required may reschedule events upon notification of participants; informs all personnel/activities involved of rescheduled events to facilitate smooth and efficient program completion within time frame provided. Acts as coordinating recorder of point data reflecting status of the various company level teams competing for the annual award of the Commander Trophy. Records point assessments on basis of results achieved by individual teams and upon competition's completion of all competitions computes total of point achievements by individual companies to determine winner of trophy and sequence of runners-up. 2. Facility Administration: Inspects buildings, facilities, courts, fields as well as installed and assigned equipment and utility systems for proper operating condition, compliance with safety and security provisions, initiates required maintenance and minor operational repairs through assigned personnel, requests necessary, major repairs or improvement of facilities' conditions by informing supervisor of requirements. Arranges preparation of facilities for specific sports events by timely readying equipment for events, preparing sports fields for use, i.e. drawing of marking lines maintenance of grounds erecting of poles, goals and as prescribed by pertinent game rules and officiating regulations. Assigns work to a small group of facility attendants consisting of approximately 4-6 local national a/o USFD or assigned military personnel, provides detailed work instructions, observes proper flow, timely completion and adequacy of execution. Schedules shift work and maintains time and attendance- records of assigned personnel. 3. Supply and Equipment Administration: Maintains informal handreceipt accountability for a variety of accountable sports equipment and affiliated accountable property, received for use in the activity's program and - as required - to be subhand-receipted to requesting supported military organizations, to facilitate supervisor's responsibility as accountable officer. Issues equipment to participating organizations, teams or individuals against handreceipt, maintains pertinent records of issue, insures timely return and appropriate condition of equipment initiates required actions to effect return of equipment by delinquent activities by notifying supervisor of equipment status. Determines requirements for additional or new equipment an basis of programs to be supported, number of participants involved and other factors influencing kind, specific and quantity of equipment to be requisitioned respectively purchased and informs supervisor of requirement's for program administration. Performs periodical inventory of assigned property to verify congruence of current handreceipts with actual property on hand. Informs supervisor of discrepancies. Resolves minor inconsistencies, by tracing document flow or handreceipt accountability records, refers major divergencies to supervisor for action deemed necessary and keeps supervisor informed on general supply and equipment status and related matter. Maintains organizational supply files, prepares simple operational reports and interoffice, correspondence regarding duties described above. Performs other duties as assigned.
