Executive Medical Director, DACH Medical Affairs
The Role:
We are looking for an Executive Medical Director, DACH Medical Affairs, Biologics who will report to the VP/Head of Global and EMEA Medical Affairs at a high-growth, international, global biopharmaceutical company with a long-standing history of FDA/EMEA approvals, including blockbuster launches. You will provide medical and scientific resources in the development and implementation of strategy, as well as lead and coordinate all activities linked to the pipeline.
Responsibilities:
* Be a single point of contact for launch medical responsibilities and, subsequently, DACH brand plan rollout in the field of Cardiovascular, Autoimmune and Diabetes medicine.
* Provide input and expertise to the global product development team and lifecycle strategy development.
* Lead the team to ensure delivery of key Med Affairs activities including launch readiness plans globally, scientific communications strategy and content/SDD/Slide Kits/FAQs, External Engagement, Medical review of promotional materials.
* Core member of the medical affairs lead team, issues management team, and cross-functional product leadership teams.
* Lead medical peers and cross-functional support teams to execute all key medical affairs deliverables in alignment with strategy (drive consistency and continuity).
* Work collaboratively with EMEA and global marketing teams to ensure robust brand planning.
* Oversight of the planning of symposia, advisory board meetings, and other meetings with health care professionals.
* Oversight of team's attendance and scientific congress support (e.g., availability to answer questions at exhibits, provide oral and poster presentations, staff medical booth, meet thought leaders, and participate in customer events).
* Create a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
* Ensure appropriate development of team members.
Qualifications & Skills:
* Must have worked in Medical Affairs with Launch Experience.
* Demonstrated strong communication, interpersonal, teamwork, organizational, and negotiation skills.
* Demonstrated excellence in strategic leadership, commercial partnership, and supervising direct reports.
* Demonstrated ability to influence others (both cross-functionally and within the function) in order to create a positive working environment.
* Ability to engage in domestic and international travel to the degree appropriate to support the business of the team.
* Direct experience working in medical affairs at a pharmaceutical company or biotech where you have led or built a team.
