SUMMARY: The Electronic Technician Maintenance (ETM) II, position maintains/repairs electronics in support of the Army’s Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations (TADSS) Program. Applies technical knowledge to perform routine tasks following detailed instructions, performs such tasks as replacing components, wiring circuits, and repairing simple electronic equipment. This person works under close supervision receiving technical guidance from supervisor or higher-level technician. ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES: • The Electronics Technician Maintenance II position will perform all functions required to maintain and repair electronic TADSS and equipment, including a variety of Training Devices • Performs preventative maintenance IAW technical guidelines and equipment specifications ensuring proper functionality and safe operating conditions • Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve routine electrical, mechanical, and computer issues by interpreting. manufacturers' manuals or similar documents • Performs inventory of spare/repair parts IAW contractual guidelines • Capture and records accurate maintenance history ensuring unique corrective measures for work orders and repair are annotated into AWARE • Applies basic and advanced technical knowledge to solve routine problems • May supervise, provide direction/guidance, and check lower-level technicians’ work • Ensuring that all paperwork and reports are completed in a timely and accurate manner • Reads and interprets schematic drawings and diagrams required to perform maintenance • This position may require travel to other installations and other ATMP locations MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • 2 - 5 years’ experience with electronics testing/troubleshooting • Intermediate computer and networking skills • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Linux, and Unix operating systems • Must be able to obtain/maintain a valid driver’s USAREUR license and On-Post driving privileges • Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment • Must have an Electronics Technician Certification • Must be able to obtain a valid Blue Card, VISA/Work Permit as required by German Law • Secret Clearance may be required, based on TADSS device, or assigned work • Must be a High School Graduate or have a GED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND CAPABILITIES: • Excellent written and oral communications skills, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, computer proficiency, and the ability to work under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment • Strong analytical, problem-solving, customer service and decision-making skills • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) JOB CONTEXT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
