Huawei Munich Research Center (MRC) is looking for an internship student for the topic Satellite Constellation GUI Programming. Satellite communications is integrated in 5G and beyond 5G wireless communication systems. Several mega-satellite constellations are currently planned and deployed for satellite direct-to-smartphone communications. Satellite coverage and satellite link statistics are rapidly changing over time due to the high velocity of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites. As an Internship student in Wireless Terminal Chipset Technology Lab at MRC you will program a Graphical User Interface (GUI) to visualize satellite positions, candidates for satellites linking to a terminal on earth, and compute and display their corresponding link parameters. Responsibilities: Definition of the interface for satellite position data. Programming the visualization of satellites position over time in HTML pages for certain map projections based on open source libraries including zooming and panning functionalities. Implementing functions to visualize candidates for satellites linking to terminals on earth and displaying the corresponding link parameters. Requirements: University student pursuing a Master degree or a Diploma degree, in the subject of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering or Mathematics. Highly interested in innovative solutions and technologies in wireless communications. Self-motivated and results-oriented work style. Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Preferred additional qualifications: Good academic transcripts from the study. Programming with JavaScript, HTML Hands-on experience on programming with 3D graphics libraries. Knowledge of MATLAB is an advantage Understanding geographical map projections is an advantage. Good Knowledge about linear algebra and signal processing is an advantage.
