Make Project Management Real!
We offer the opportunity to lead a high complexity CAPEX investment project as Project Manager. The first project will be in Burghausen, Germany. Once this project is concluded, mobility for a next project within Europe will be expected.
The main objective of this role is to lead (remotely and on the grounds) the efforts to deliver an investment project of strategic importance to Borealis. You are responsible to ensure that safety, ethics and quality standards are kept - by our own staff and by contractors - and that the project is delivered on time, at cost and within scope as set forward in the project agreement.
In this exciting role you will be reporting to the Group Project Execution Manager and be interfacing directly to Project Steering Committee and Project Owner. You will also represent Borealis towards EPC(M) contractors and their management and local authorities.
Your main areas of responsibility are:
* Be a role model of Borealis values, principles and behaviours to internal and external partners
* Organize the preparation and approval of project plans, work packages and budgets which align with customer expectations and company policy, and enables the project to be effectively monitored and controlled.
* Staff the project with sufficient and qualified resources (Project Management Team), set targets and follow up on their performance
* Procure the necessary resources through establishment of multiple contracts (engineering, construction, equipment, machinery, etc.) of the appropriate quality and quantity needed to carry out the project to the relevant standards, within the budgeted cost allowance
* Monitor and control the project activities to resolve any problems and meet the defined milestones within agreed standards of cost, time, quality and safety.
* Establish and maintain the necessary systems, procedures and processes to monitor and control the project effectively.
* Maintain close links with the customer/client to keep them informed of progress and problems, to understand their requirements, and agree any changes to the contractual terms and conditions and their financial implications
* Take responsibility, within the project frame, for assuring strict adherence to legal requirements
About you
* You have a Masters degree or similar and a Project Manager Certification from PMI or IPMA.
* You have minimum 7 years of Project Management experience, you gained a deep understanding of existing EPC/EPCM contractors available on the market and built up a good network amongst them.
* Thanks to your experience in a technical / operational role in the Chemical Industry you possess good knowledge of chemical processes and equipment.

* You enjoy working in intercultural environment and regular business travel can be required.
* You are able to build high performing team within pressurized working environment and to quickly establish trust amongst culturally diverse team members. For this you can rely on your excellent communication skills and your fluency in English (oral and written). Knowledge of German is mandatory.
* Your leadership style relies strongly on being able to delegate, to empower your team by setting clear roles and expectations and to coach people.
