Abbott GmbH in Wiesbaden is looking for a Finance Director (m/f/d)
The Affiliate FD will externally and internally represent the affiliate as the most senior Abbott Finance employee, upholding all Country legal, governmental and statutory requirements, taking personal responsibility where legislation enforces. The Affiliate FD will serve as a member of the local Board of Directors, and local Business Advisory Council/Affiliate Compliance Committee and (if required) in the local Industry Associations. The Affiliate FD will provide financial insights to business leaders and partners to support decision making process, especially in light of the changing environment of Finance given emerging technologies.
Core Job Responsibilities:
* With support from the Shared Service Organization, ensure integrity of financial books and records and ensure that adequate internal financial controls and administrative procedures are maintained for all Divisions at the affiliate, including Tax, Treasury and Internal/External Audit.
* Provide actual monthly/quarterly/yearly financial data/reports in compliance with Corporate Reporting policies (when applicable to CFS) and comply with all local financial regulations and tax reporting requirements.
* Provide financial counsel and analysis for proposed strategic growth initiatives and acts as a business advisor for senior management.
* Anticipate market changes that can impact the affiliate and develop knowledge of Country economic/fiscal scenarios.
* Lead special projects related to local business re-organizations (e.g. legal entities mergers and de-mergers) and within the affiliate drive cross divisional projects (e.g. implementation of new accounting standards, ERP changes, CSDR reporting, electronic invoicing, etc.).
* Act as a Change Agent within the affiliate Finance function to ensure that key projects are not only executed on time and to a high standard but properly communicated and well understood by stakeholders.
* Drive consistency between divisions, identifying opportunities for increased efficiency and ensuring effective coordination of effort across the affiliate Finance function.
* Develop appropriate financial strategies and implement/support programs with administrative excellence in accordance with the Company’s strategic objectives.
* Support and collaborate with the Shared Service Organization acting as a local advocate for the Finance Operating Model and act as a key local contact to address and resolve complex issues requiring local support.
* Provide leadership to build, maintain and develop the Abbott Finance Organization at the affiliate level.
* Ability to streamline processes and identify simplification opportunities.
Qualification:
* University or equivalent Master degree/education (Finance or Accounting).
* CPA, or European Equivalent.
* Entity Reporting experience in a multi-national multi-functional business environment.
* Solid US/Local GAAP Accounting and reporting skills.
* 10 years in leadership position within an entity reporting function.
* Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
* Fluency in both English and German languages.
* Lived abroad or supported international business considered a plus.
* Assignments in multiple divisions/businesses and exposure across lines of business considered a plus.
* Involvement in projects or assignments supporting Corporate, Area or Division headquarters to gain an appreciation of the big picture and interrelationships considered a plus.
* Experience of working closely with a Shared Services Organization considered a plus.
