Hauptaufgaben
Performs lifeguard duties, responsible of safeguarding the lives of persons using the swimming pool. Rescues swimmers and administers first aid as required. Ensures that safety rules are followed. Responsible for employing and tactfully enforcing safety rules, sanitation rules, and preventative measures for the protection of all facility visitors and program participants. Reports infraction of rules, regulations, and procedures to supervisory personnel. Provides maximum pool area surveillance and responds to emergencies. Rescues swimmers and administers immediate assistance to any person in trouble in the water, and renders first aid to injured persons. Will complete a prescribed swimming distance of no fewer than 500 yards (approx. 500m) each duty day to ensure peak physical readiness for safety of patrons and staff (Army Regulation 215-1 paragraph 8-28, sub paragraph (C) 3(a). Wears appropriate clothing worn by lifeguards as stated in Army Regulation 215-1, paragraph 8-28, sub paragraph (C) 2(f).
Checks identification of swimmers to ensure eligibility prior to admission into pool area. Ensures that children under twelve years of age are accompanied by an adult age 18 or older. Maintains "Lost and Found" articles and releases identified articles to owner. Answers telephone and provide general information such as pool hours of operation, personnel eligible to use pool, etc.
Performs task required in the daily operations and execution of water chemistry testing procedures. Follows instructions and procedures without deviation in accomplishing recurring tasks, and immediately reports to designated personnel any problems or situations that arise which are not covered by guides (the performance of this work does not require previous experience and training in operation and maintenance of water chemistry testing procedures.)
Maintains pool and surrounding areas, ensuring that they are clean and free of hazards. Participates with other pool personnel in maintaining sanitary cleanliness and aesthetic appearance of locker rooms, windows, doors, trash cans, tables, and patron seating areas. Properly disposes trash. Replenishes supplies in restroom areas as needed. Uses pool vacuum to remove debris from pool. Cleans and maintains additional facility areas and restrooms by picking up trash, vacuuming, mopping, and wiping down surfaces. Replenishes supplies in restrooms. Wears appropriate clothing worn by lifeguards as stated in Army Regulation 215-1, paragraph 8-28, sub paragraph (C) 2(f).
Performs other duties as required.

C-03:
E&T Level I: No additional experience required.
Current employees who do not meet E&T Level I and who are not in the same or similar occupation, must have 2 years of creditable experience that included clerical work in an office or store, working with computers, bookkeeping, making and recording inventories, telephone marketing, arranging for events or as a cashier, etc.
Current employees who have served one year in the same or similar occupation are qualified for the next higher grade.
• Applicant must possess and maintain a current Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certificate:
First Aid, adult CPR and Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certification. Medical certification of physical strenuous / stressful position required before appointment.
• Office automation skills are required.
LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY LEVEL:
English Language Proficiency level C1 required.
