As a TransportationArea Manager, you will be responsible and accountable leader for ateam of associates in a cluster within Germany. You will own theoperations and engagement of your shift with the aim to optimizeassociates' experience and performance in hand with load planningand efficiency, with a focus on safety. A day in the life You’llwork on a shift pattern at one of our sites, making sure it is asproductive as it can be. Your main focus will be to own and drive aculture of safety and uphold quality and shift performancestandards. You’ll also oversee process improvements within yourarea and drive implementation. A typical day is varied, includingeverything from routine team management and daily operationalresponsibilities to process improvement and wide-scale operationalcontingency tasks. You’ll also be a role model and mentor to newmanagers. Working Schedules Amazon facilities operate at mostly27/7 and therefore as a Transport Area Manager your workingschedules may vary and span across day shifts, Mid shifts as wellas night shift. Also due to the business needs must be flexible towork weekends. Location &Business travel As a Transport Manageryou will require to travel across 4 Amazon facilities in Dortmundarea (DTM cluster) and more specifically in (DTM1, DTM2, PAD1, DTM9and PAD1). Therefore, you are expected share time between theoffice and the facilities (typically 1-2 days in the office andthen work from each facility for the remaining of the week).Depending on operational needs you might need to visit multiplesites within the day hence you must be flexible to start and finishyour working day from different locations. GRUNDQUALIFIKATIONEN •Relevant experience in leading a busy and large-scale transportoperation within a growing and rapidly scaling business. • Relevantexperience in people management. • A degree • Valid TransportManager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) according toVERORDNUNG (EG) No. 1071/2009. • Relevant experience withperformance metrics and process improvement. • Relevant experiencedeveloping creative and scalable solutions independently, and drivethem from ideation to successful completion. • Advanced proficiencyin written and verbal English and German BEVORZUGTE QUALIFIKATIONEN• Master’s Degree or similar education in Operations Research,Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, Economics, BusinessAdministration, or a similar related discipline • Experience with acontingent workforce during peak seasons. • Experience of beingnamed on a Commercial road haulage permit within the Transportindustry.
