Head of Quality
Location – Berlin (Onsite 5 days a week)
Direct reports – 8 direct reports
We’re currently supporting a leading Automotive supplier that specialises in the production of complex powertrain and engine components with their search for a Head of Quality to join the team and be responsible for overseeing quality planning and engineering functions.
Responsibilities:
* Oversee all quality activities and initiatives on-site.
* Manage quality related reporting and corrective actions, including 8D reports.
* Implement quality tools such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA and 5Why for automotive industry standards.
* Disciplinary management of employees in the quality department at the site.
* Training and further education of staff in the area of quality.
* Preparation of reports for the Head of Overall Quality and for the plant management.
* Active participation in the site management team.
* Implementation of customer requirements in terms of quality on site.
* Analysis and implementation of customer and internal requirements in the area of quality (Products with TS requirements: FMEA, control plan, capabilities, PPF procedures, etc.).
* Participation in regular meetings, discussions, etc. with the customer.
* Implementation of special quality approvals.
* Implementation of the specifications in the area of responsibility regarding; IATF 16949 (standards) to improve product quality for automotive customers, Integrated Management System, Environmental Management System according to DIN EN ISO 14001, Energy management system according to DIN EN ISO 50001.
* Support in conducting internal process and product audits.
* Maintenance and further development of quality documentation (process descriptions, procedural instructions, etc.).
Requirements:
* Minimum of 3 years previous experience within a Quality Management role.
* Experience within the automotive industry.
* Leadership experience.
* Automated processes such as crimping, welding, milling, turning and grinding.
* Must have CNC machinery experience.
* Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) for automated processes.
* Certified to IATF 16949 and FMEA standards; EHS certification preferred but not required.
