POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: Certified Nurse Assistant Training Supervisor FLSA: Non - Exempt GENERAL SUMMARY The CNA Training Supervisor will assist the Nursing Supervisor with orienting and training new CNA’s and Nurse Assistants and act as liaison between the Nursing Supervisor and the CNA/NA staff on needs and patient care. This role also involves coordinating care given by CNAs/NAs ensuring a high standard of care, and maintaining compliance with facility policies, while giving witness to the Franciscan values of reconciliation, peace and justice, responsible stewardship and respect for the individual. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Nurse Aide Workforce Management Coordinate Sisters care provided by CNA’s and Nurse Assistants Maintain high standards of care through frequent rounds and hands-on assistance Train new hires and assist with managing CNA and NA’s work schedules Conduct employee evaluations and provide regular feedback Ensure proper use, maintenance and cleaning of the equipment. Coordinate regular CNA and Nurse Assistant meetings, with a goal of 4 meetings a year. Foster good communication among all nursing staff, management, pastoral care team, and all Sisters receiving care Resident Care and Communication Ensures a Wholistic Health approach by promoting Sisters rights, dignity, and independence Communicate effectively with Sisters, Pastoral Care Team, Co-workers and other health professionals. Assist with personal care, meals, and daily activities Monitor and report changes in Sisters' conditions to the Charge Nurse Staff Development and Support Collaborate with nursing management on staffing needs Assist with CNA and NA development and skills reviews Communicates effectively with Nursing Management, Charge Nurses, CNA's and Nurse Aides, on-site Dentist and Pastoral Care. Handle first-level complaints and conflict resolution Maintain in service programs for continuing education training Facility Operations Ensure adherence to facility policies and procedures Assist in emergency procedures (fire, tornado, etc.) Maintain supplies and cleanliness of resident areas Requirements QUALIFICATIONS Valid CNA or QMA license High School Diploma/GED Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Qualified Medical Assistant (QMA) Leadership and supervisory experience in healthcare preferred Strong communication and organizational skills Physical ability to push, pull or lift over 100 pounds and perform care duties that will involve sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting and climbing stairs. WORKING CONDITIONS Full-time position with potential overtime and scheduled staff meetings. Shifts are mostly evening but will require some day, night and weekend work depending on training and supervisory needs. ACCOUNTABLITY The Certified Nurse Assistant Training Supervisor directly reports to the Assistant Director of Nursing. However, when they are working the floor, they would take direction from the Charge Nurse. Salary Description Starting $20.55/hr
