The Asset Portfolio Management Europe unit is responsible for actively managing the market exposure of Statkraft’s existing and future assets in Europe to ensure long-term value creation. We manage several risk management portfolios for the existing power asset portfolio that aims at balancing risk / reward with the intend to add value through profound market competence.
Job Description
As an intern in Asset Portfolio Management, you will support the portfolio management team on analysis and reporting topics. You will be given responsibility from day one and you will get the chance to actively contribute to its development! The scope of responsibilities includes the following:
* Develop and maintain tools and processes to analyse the total asset exposure, hedge positions and associated risk positions in order to support the portfolio managers in their decision-making
* Engage in quantitative market analysis and qualitative market research tasks
* Support the team in regular reporting requirements
You will gain first-hand and in-depth understanding of power markets and related commodities with a focus on renewable energy and learn the fundamentals of energy trading. Furthermore, you will gain insights into managing the exposure of a power generation portfolio across multiple countries and technologies. We are looking for an intern to join the Asset Portfolio Management team for a 6-month internship, starting as soon as possible.
Qualifications
* Currently studying or recently received a degree in either Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Engineering, or other relevant analytical field of study and available for a 6-month internship. Master students preferred.
* Strong mathematical and statistical skills
* Strong programming affinity (Python at best) and practical experience in data analytics (such as time series analysis, statistical modelling, visualization)
* Strong commercial mindset and proactive problem solver
* Very good English skills to ensure optimal collaboration in an international team
* First experience in power markets is a plus
* Independent way of working
