Amazon Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging (MSP) is looking for an Industrial Automation Developer to join the team and work on developing the next generation of Amazon Fulfilment robotic and automation technology. Our Team is pushing the boundaries of traditional Industrial Automation design, leverage internal Edge Compute technologies, SoftPLCs and Amazon Web Services to develop highly scalable, resilient, and secure Control Systems Applications. MSP develops highly automated Pack and Sort Technology for Amazon Fulfillment to improve productivity and safety in our processes. Key job responsibilities As an Engineer you would be responsible for designing systems against defined architecture and strategy. You would be a Lead in the team making decisions no how we design, develop and deploy controls applications and systems. You would be expected to be innovating on how applications are architected on Software PLCs (Codesys, Beckhoff, Siemens) in Structured Text. In addition, having a working knowledge of other programming languages (C, C++, Rust, Python) and Amazon Web Services (AWS IoT) will be needed to effectively work with partner Software teams. You will be responsible for other elements of the system design with a knowledge of either Functional Safety and/or Cyber Security. You will need to be a mentor and leader for other members of the team. About the team MSP Controls is a Global team across North America and Europe. We a responsible for designing and developing Industrial Automation Control Systems (IACS) from scratch. We leverage infrastructure to lead the way in the Automation Sector bringing DevOps best practices to deploy safe, secure, resilient, reliable and highly available at scale and high velocity. Due to the team being Global, the role can also be located in London, UK, Berlin, Germany Or Hamme, Belgium Basic Qualifications - Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems - Experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering - Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes - Experience designing and developing safety controls systems that scale Preferred Qualifications - Experience with PowerShell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java - Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology - Experience with Linux/Unix - Experience in development of full scale automated safety systems Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
