About our client
Our client is a highly successful European buy-and-build platform backed by an international PE investor, that has grown to a turnover of over EUR 1bn and is doing circa 30 add-on acquisitions per year. As they are on a growth journey, they are looking for someone to match their scale-up mentality.
They are now looking to grow their German team with an outgoing and proactive M&A Manager, fluent in German and English.
In this role, you will have significant control over your work, challenging and developing yourself by executing on their M&A strategy, owning large parts of the M&A process, and regularly following up on cases within the cross-border M&A team, country organisations, and group management. This role reports directly to the group M&A Director, who is based in Stockholm.
The role is ideally based in Hamburg, but can be located in other offices in southern Germany, e.g. Munich as well and involves 2-4 travelling days per month. What the job involves
* Collaborate with the M&A team in the development and execution of the M&A strategy
* Source and evaluate potential acquisition candidates
* Plan, execute and lead due diligence processes
* Conduct deal negotiations
* Develop balanced business case proposals
* Present and pitch cases internally
* Build and maintain relationships both internally and externally
Who we are looking for
* Several years of experience in Corporate Development, M&A, Private Equity or Transaction Services
* Proven track record in executing deals
* Fluency in English and German
* Comfort in working independently and with a commercial mindset
* Valued personal traits include a self-starting mentality, humility, and social competence, as you will interact with a wide range of people, from the local entrepreneur of a 10-person firm to nationwide firms with private equity owner
