Role Overview As a Senior Accounting Manager at Ververica, you will oversee and manage the financial reporting, accounting processes, and internal controls in line with German GAAP (HGB) and international standards where applicable. You will play a critical role in ensuring accuracy and compliance. Key Responsibilities Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes (including AP/AR functions), ensuring timely and accurate financial statement reporting in compliance with German GAAP (HGB) and IFRS standards. Oversee the preparation and analysis of balance sheets, profit and loss statements, cash flow reports, and other financial statements for internal and external stakeholders. Assist with the preparation of tax filings, including VAT, corporate tax, and other statutory reports, ensuring compliance with local regulations. Develop and maintain detailed financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes. Ensure the timely and accurate processing of journal entries, accruals, and intercompany transactions. Review and enhance internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Support internal and external audits and manage communication with auditors, tax advisors, and other third parties. Advanced experience with SAP and MS Excel / Google Sheets for financial analysis, modeling, and reporting. Train and mentor other team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Collaborate closely with other departments (e.g., FP&A, Legal, Sales and HR) to provide financial insights and support decision-making. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. At least 5-7 years of professional experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on German accounting principles (HGB) and international standards (IFRS). Proficiency in SAP and advanced Excel skills (financial modeling, pivot tables, and macros). Strong knowledge of financial reporting, tax regulations, and internal controls. Solid experience in preparing financial statements, tax filings, and managing audits. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
