We are looking for an Sr. Scientist, Environmental Safety in Preclinical Development (m/f/d) to join our team in Schwabenheim, near Mainz, on a fulltime and permanent basis. Your Responsibilities and Tasks: Scientifically support Research & Development regarding new and existing products Assess the safety of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients and Veterinary Medicinal Products in the context of environmental risk assessments relevant for marketing authorization globally Compile and evaluate ecotoxicological and environmental fate profiles of chemical substances by literature search, QSAR analysis and testing Plan, monitor and evaluate GLP studies according to, e.g., OECD environmental safety guidelines Compile expert reports, other scientific texts, and presentations in English for authorities Maintain and extend contact to contract research organizations and external experts Track changes in regulatory framework related to chemical safety and evaluate impact on business Act as environmental safety representative in international multidisciplinary project teams Act as environmental safety representative in international trade association working groups Your Qualifications: Natural Sciences degree, including PhD or comparable Ideally experience in Research & Development, preferably in the international (veterinary) pharmaceutical or plant protection industry Profound knowledge in environmental safety and environmental fate (ideally including modeling) of chemical substances with solid background in biology and chemistry, Experience in evaluation of ecotoxicology and environmental fate for chemical substances Precise, analytical, and creative work approach to problem solving Fluent written and spoken English language proficiency; good knowledge of German language is beneficial.
