Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Production Manager Protein Crops to establish and manage the production of seeds and crops for protein extraction purposes, supporting KWS food ingredients ambitions.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee (contra-)seasonal production of protein crops, including production planning, grower selection and management, sampling, harvesting, and logistics.Ensure production meets regulatory and customer requirements regarding quality, identity preservation, and phytosanitary status.Establish and coordinate logistics for seed/grain transfer to growers and processing partners.Provide agronomic advice and conduct crop status monitoring with contract growers.Manage inventory from seed to protein, ensuring transparency on seed/grain flow.Assure production serves needs of KWS' food industry partner and product development projects.Contribute to capacity and quantity planning for R&D/commercial usage.Collaborate with internal plant breeding and production teams, as well as the Lead R&D and Protein Production Manager KFI, to coordinate seed maintenance and propagation.Identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency and quality parameters.RequirementsBachelor's or Master's degree in agriculture or adjacent sciences.At least 3 years' experience in agricultural crop production, preferably in field and controlled environments.Experience in organic production and/or protein crop processing is an advantage.Hands-on attitude, proactive problem-solving skills, and innovative mindset.Excellent communication and networking skills, with ability to work in interdisciplinary teams.Proficient German and English language skills, with driving license mandatory (Class B).High willingness to travel.About KWSKWS is a leading plant breeding company, operating independently for almost 170 years.
