Hauptaufgaben
Test, install, reconditions, troubleshoot & repair electronic, hydraulic and mechanical malfunctions in many different types of target lifting systems both US and foreign made. Use blueprints and wiring diagrams and maintenance manuals to Repair/replace parts such as relays, switches, rectifiers, diodes, etc. Equipment which is continually being modified and adapted often does not have adequate documentation, requiring the incumbent to work out for himself the details about circuitry, theory of operations, troubleshooting techniques etc. Repairs basic remote control/switching devices. Fabricate and repair sensor cable assemblies. Test, install, troubleshoot & repair electrical target systems (i.e. distribution panels, power conditioners, motor start controls, transformers, Interconnect boxes, and the gunfire simulators, etc.). Replace & repair electrical wiring, battery cables, suppression boards and parts i.e., relays, switches, solenoids, electric motors, transformers, radios, etc. Repair, test and troubleshoot hydraulic parts in the moving target carriers, stationary and personnel target lifting mechanisms & track assemblies. Assembles and installs individual thermal heating cables which are used for the heating of target silhouettes. Possesses detailed knowledge of the range operating characteristics and interface requirements of the specific equipment components and software which comprise the range network. Knowledge is used to perform range restoral and network maintenance actions. Installs, test, troubleshoots and repairs components of a range operating Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) and Very High-speed Digital Subscriber Line (VDSL) network system consisting of Computers, Modems, Routers, Switches, IP associated targetry, copper and fiber-optic cable as well as coax and CAT5 cables. Must be familiar with Internet Protocol process Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and DSL networking theory to install, test, isolate faults and resolve conflict errors. Documents component repairs and system faults for analysis. Work closely with multiple IT Operations teams to resolve issues. Understanding of basic electronics theory, concepts and principles to review engineering packages and make or recommend appropriate revisions. Complexity of the technical work is moderately difficult. Both technical and administrative directed work require a continuing effort to assure that quality and service standard, including matter of timeliness, form, procedure, accuracy, and quantity are met. Employee performs a variety of assignments related to the real-time management and operational maintenance of the ranges. Duties require the application of different and unrelated methods, practices, and techniques to identify, analyze, evaluate, and coordinate DSL network projects, inspections, studies, and engineering requirements, and resolve related problems. Employee actions, decisions, and recommendations depend on multiple factors, e.g., availability of data, kinds and levels of communications required, complexity of each situation, local conditions and requirements, degree of integration and coordination required. Locates and clears respectively the deficiencies, malfunctions and damages on electronic, mechanical, hydraulic or electrical components in an incidental field type on the spot environment under extreme time constraints. Test operates electrical and electronic components, determines cause and specific location of failure using a step-by-step method of testing components operating multi-test instruments and evaluates resulting measurements to determine type and location of defects in electrical circuits, replacement of defective units or sub-units. Visual checks of interaction operation of electrical, mechanical or hydraulic components, checking for malfunctions, damages, leaks, defects, or other causes for improper or insufficient action. Determines and replaces defective parts or sub-assemblies; tests components and sub-units for proper function and interaction, test operation of equipment. Troubleshoots and repairs data cabling located on hard-wire ranges running the entire length of the range, checks the connections at the junction boxes to ensure continuity is present. Troubleshoots, modulates and repairs VHF and UHF radio transmitter and receivers. Inspects and repairs thermal heating cabling. Makes modifications to electronic equipment to insure it meets or exceeds the Deutsches Institut fuer Normung (DIN) and Verband der Elektrotechnik, Elektronik und Informationstechnik (VDE) standards and to improve its reliability and safety during operation. Maintains complete records of preventive and emergency maintenance and all test data.

A4-2601-5:
Completed vocational training of at least 30 months in the appropriate trade./

Completed vocational training in the appropriate trade PLUS 2 years experience at a level of difficulty comparable to the Wage Group 5 or equivalent. The applicant must be able to perform the duties independently./
Abgeschlossene Berufsausbildung in der entsprechenden Gewerbegruppe mit einer Ausbildungsdauer von mindestens 30 Monaten, PLUS 2 Jahre Berufserfahrung in der Lohngruppe 5 oder in, vom Schwierigkeitsgrad vergleichbaren Taetigkeiten, welche selbstaendig ausgeuebt wurden.
