UNV's Management Services hold the responsibility for the strategic planning, managerial leadership, oversight and quality control of an integrated platform of operational services ensuring timely, effective and efficient delivery according to corporate performance standards and in compliance with the UN Regulations and Rules and UNDP´s accountability framework. The Human Resources Section (HRS) provides a full range of HR services to the organization and its workforce. As part of the Human Resources Section, the Capacity Development Team (CDT) designs capacity development and learning programmes for UN Volunteers. The team supports the implementation of the UNV Learning Portfolio which consists of five comprehensive learning experiences: 1. onboarding 2. skills surge 3. empowerment for change 4. connect and learn 5. career craft. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Design, planning and delivery of learning programmes for UN Volunteers - Analyze learning needs of UN Volunteers related to their onboarding, professional development and career planning; - Coordinate the full cycle of project management for volunteer learning programmes, from conception and design to implementation, aligning with assessed needs, corporate priorities and UN Volunteer Learning Strategy; - Collaborate with relevant UNV offices and domain expert to ensure content relevance and accuracy; - Develop training modules and learning materials, using appropriate approaches, methodologies and technologies to cater to different needs and contexts; - Deliver or coordinate the delivery of onsite trainings and workshops for UNV personnel globally; - Plan, and conduct evaluations of volunteer learning programmes, compiling statistics and reports for improvements. 2. Coordinate the delivery of webinars and virtual learning initiatives - Analyze learning needs of diverse UN Volunteers categories to tailor webinars and other virtual learning initiatives accordingly; - Develop a comprehensive calendar for webinars and virtual events, delivering events using interactive tools and platforms; - Facilitate the delivery of live sessions in collaboration with stakeholders and domain experts; - Upload digital learning resources on the central learning platform and share best practices across the organization; - Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of learning activities. 3. Manage learning portals, including system updates and process automations - Ensure that learning platforms and learning management systems are current, user-friendly and accessible; - Track platform usage and operational issues to optimize functionalities and user experience. - Coordinate the development, testing, deployment, and administration of online learning materials, eLearning courses, and technology-based process automations; - Work closely with helpdesk to resolve user issues promptly, providing guidance and orientation on the use of platforms and tools, as needed; - Collaborate with external vendors to address technical issues and enhance platform capabilities. 4. Coordinate data collection and reporting via Learning BI - Streamline evaluations of learning programmes for consistency across the organization; - Collect participation and evaluation data to identify trends and insights for decision making; - Automate the reporting of learning activities into BI systems, creating user-friendly dashboards for various stakeholders; - Research and share best practices and new learning technologies to increase the impact of UNV's volunteer learning activities. 5. Provide operational and management support, ensuring smooth team coordination - Procure professional services from vendors and consultants, including drafting terms of reference, for volunteer learning activities and related projects; - Organize the delivery of services of external consultants and vendors in line with learning plans, timelines and budgets; - Forecast, monitor, and produce reports on the UNV's learning and capacity development budgets and expenditures, and recommend adjustments to increase impact; - Support the Team Lead in the management of learning contracts and agreements with UN partner agencies, including invoicing, expenditure reporting and payments; - Assist in developing and updating policies and standard operating procedures related to volunteer learning; - Promote effective communication and collaboration within the Capacity Development Team and across the section. Experience, Knowledge, and Skills - Minimum of 2 years (with Master's degree) or 4 years (with Bachelor's degree) of relevant professional experience in learning and development - Experience in research and project management implementation is an asset; - Experience in data analysis is desirable; - Fluency in English is required - Proficiency in an additional official UN language is an asset.
