Our client’s company is looking for a dedicated Mechanical Working Site Supervisor (North Munster based / Midlands based) to join their team.
You’ll play a pivotal role in supervising directly employed Fitter Crew as well as Sub-Contractor Fitter Crew. Liaison with Project Managers and Engineers.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise directly employed Fitter Crew
2. Supervise Sub-Contractor Fitter Crew
3. Arrange all site logistics including; Material take-offsPlanning of WorksPlanning of resources requiredAll requirements as set out under the Health & Safety Plan – Inducting personnel, delivering RAMS to site personnel, delivering Tool-Box-Talks, Permits-to-work, ensuring all H&S forms are in place and up-to-date on site.Arranging sub-contractors from other disciplines (civil, electrical, automation)
4. Training Client operators to become comfortable with the day to day running of the plant following commissioning
5. Liaison with Project Managers and Engineers
6. Building a good rapport with Client Resident Engineering Team and Plant Operator and continuous liaison with this team
7. Work as part of a Mechanical Team for the delivery of new installations and for maintenance and repairs of equipment
8. Prepare all siteworks including the completion of all Permits to Work, Safe Plan of Action’s and creating a safe work area.
9. Fitting of equipment to a professional standard. Installations must look neat and tidy and be carried out in such a manner that the end user can safely access and operate the equipment
10. Comply with Company’s and our Client’s stringent safety standards
11. Liaise with our Client’s during installation to ensure safety and quality compliance
Requirements:
12. The successful candidate must have the ability to work on their own initiative or as part of a team with minimal supervision. The role is a mixed variety of maintenance works and installations
13. The ideal candidate will preferably have experience in water/wastewater treatment plant installations
14. This role requires experience in installation of Stainless Steel, Ductile Iron and PVC pipework of all range of sizes
15. Experience in the installation of equipment such as pumps, valves, blowers, augers, penstocks, platforms & access equipment, etc is required
16. In particular the role requires experience in the installation, repair & maintenance of Chemical Systems including equipment such as bulk storage tanks, kiosks, chemical dosing pumps, chemical dosing pipelines, double contained pipework and the fitting/installation of all associated instrumentation
17. Chemical System Installations will include the following chemicals, Aluminium Sulphate, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Hypochlorite, Polymers, Sulphuric Acid and any other chemicals associated with the water and wastewater treatment processes
18. Candidate must have experience in commissioning equipment such as centrifugal pumps, submersible pumps, dosing pumps, PC pumps, actuators, conveyors, motors and gearboxes
19. Must also be familiar with typical instrumentation used in the water sector such as level, flow, pressure, pH, chlorine, turbidity etc.
20. Strong technical capability with attention to detail in reading drawings, templates, schematics P&ID’s and other drawings
21. Willingness to travel (within Ireland) where necessary
22. A full clean driver’s licence is required
