Our research at Fraunhofer HHI involves developing new approaches to installing LiFi cells as easy as changing a luminaire. LiFi transmits data through modulated light, enabling high-speed, secure communication without radio interference. PLC leverages existing electrical wiring for reliable data transfer, especially useful in environments where conventional cabling is challenging. What you will do
* Working on the system design of Powerline-LiFi
* Modelling and simulating systems to assess expected performance
* Work with practical experimental prototypes in the laboratory
* Performing measurements and evaluations in realistic test environments
What you bring to the table
* Enrolled Bachelor's/Master's student in full-time studies in Berlin in the fields of electrical engineering, computer engineering or communication technologies with an interest in communication systems, or similar fields of study
* Experience in programming MATLAB and optimally previous practical lab experience
* Knowledge of or interest in digital signal processing and wireless communication systems (OFDM, MIMO, …)
* Independent work style, willingness to learn, and interest in the topic
* Willingness to work from the office, with the flexibility of 1 or 2 home office days per week

The position is initially limited to 1 year. An extension is explicitly desired.
The monthly working time is 80 hours. This position is also available on a part-time basis.
