Our team supports the Bertelsmann board as well as top management across all divisions in all aspects of M&A transactions world-wide, including valuation, buy- and sell-side process management, and sourcing of opportunities. We also maintain a continuous dialogue with all stakeholders regarding sector trends, competitive dynamics and the attractiveness of M&A opportunities with respect to our investment priorities and strategic agenda.
Your challenges
As an intern (m/f) in the M&A team located in Bertelsmann’s headquarter in Gütersloh you will support our team in all aspects of live executions (sell-sides and buy-sides) as well as the screening and sourcing of M&A opportunities. You will find one of our experienced managers acting as your sparring partner. Your tasks will include:
* Market and company research
* Financial analysis and valuation of companies
* Conceptual tasks
* As possible output of your work: presentation to the board or top management, focusing on the company within its competitive environment, its operational and financial performance and outlook, its valuation and finally a strategic recommendation for Bertelsmann
Your profile
You earned a Bachelor or adequate undergraduate degree with top academic results from leading universities, ideally with finance focus. Additionally, you should have the following attributes:
* Internship experience in investment banking / private equity / M&A with knowledge of financial modeling, investment analysis and company profiling preferred
* Excellent quantitative and problem-solving skills
* Expert knowledge of business and analytical software (e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Strong team player with excellent time management skills, strong communication skills, effective decision making, planning and organization skills
* Very good English (ideally acquired abroad) and conversational German language skills
To ensure a good learning experience, you should be available for a minimum of three, preferably six months. The position is to be filled regularly starting in summer 2018.
