Serco is actively seeking an ISS/Columbus Planner (EPIC) to join our esteemed team at DLR's Oberpfaffenhofen location, specifically within the Columbus research laboratory, a human spaceflight mission which Is Europe’s major contribution to the ISS.
Responsibilities:
* Transformation of mission objectives and operational requirements, translated into executable timelines of on-board and ground activities
* Strategic, Tactical, and Execution planning, in long, mid-term, and short-term timeframes
* Coordination and communication aspects with the other entities (payload and experiment developers such as CADMOS, BIOTESC, BUSOC, etc) and international partners (NASA, JAXA, ROSCOSMOS, CSA)
* Technical planning where payload requirements are properly integrated into the ISS on-board executable timelines
* Generate and maintain up-to-date planning timeline for European Lab experiments according to procedures in support of daily operations
* Interface closely with the Flight Control Team (FCT) and ground control teams in order to quickly address any problems should an emergency situation arise
* Involved directly on the console in real-time re-planning, and support procedure/message readiness review and uplink for the operation of Columbus module through Col-CC shifts as COMET position
* Planning activities cover long term series of activities Increment, perform both the pre-increment preparation (longer term, future planning), and short-term planning
* Develop On-Orbit Summary timeline during pre-increment planning, and for ensuring the integration of the European activities into the Weekly Plans (WLP) and daily Short-Term Plans (STP)
Profile:
* Bachelor's or master's degree in space engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field
* Strong knowledge of Office 365 and Windows
* Willingness to work in rotating shifts and during weekends when necessary
* Experience or knowledge of mission planning, and timeline development
* Familiarity with the ISS operations, and general knowledge about the mission
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with proficiency in English
* Detail-oriented and organized, capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic work environment
* Ability to work effectively in a shift work scheme, including nights, weekends, and holidays
