The Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development (HNEE) is a driving force for sustainable development with its holistic sustainable orientation, its unique range of courses geared towards future-relevant topics and as a strong institution in the field of sustainability research. Around 2,300 students from about 60 nations study and more than 400 employees teach, research and work at the modern campus university. The mission of the HNEE is to drive the transformation towards a sustainable society by developing viable model solutions and equipping students with the necessary design skills. What to expect
The professorship will focus on developing digital production methods in woodworking and wood processing on industrial scale. The aim of the professorship is to help position the woodworking industry for future challenges in terms of digital technologies, automation and improved resource efficiency.
1. Your language of instruction will be mainly German, but you may also have courses in English, depending on the study programme.
2. The professorship's research and teaching focuses on the digitalisation of production technologies, Industry 4.0, approaches to combining ERP and BIM systems, the industrial production of construction products, the automated production of building elements, building components, interior design and furniture components, as well as AI-based production methods and their transfer.
3. As a new colleague, you will represent the full spectrum of your discipline.. Depending on your area of expertise, you may specialise in CNC technology, robotics, automation technology, production simulation, life cycle costing, ERP systems or shop floor management.
4. You will network with local, national and international timber and woodworking companies, facilitating collaborative exchanges and referrals.
5. You are willing to take part in the self-governing bodies and committees
6. You realize innovative ideas for applied research and development tasks into practice and demonstrate the harmony of research and teaching.
The regular teaching load is 18 SWH (Semester Work Hours). You will mainly teach in German, especially in the planned Bachelor's study programme "Social-ecological Forest Management". In the context of internationalisation, English-language contributions are also expected. Experience with innovative teaching and learning formats is desirable. A high level of commitment is required in the context of application-oriented research, as well as in taking on university self-administration tasks. In Germany, you have an effective network that you incorporate into your work. Experience in (inter)national research projects and consortia is desired.
Requirements
Formal hiring requirements are according to § 43 BbgHG (1 ) 1 - 3, 4 b:
Completed university degree, special qualification for academic work, usually proven by a qualified doctorate, as well as pedagogical aptitude and special achievements in the application or development of scientific knowledge and methods in at least three years of professional practice, of which at least two years must have been spent outside university. Alternatively, the majority of the professional activity must have been carried out in cooperation between the university and non-university professional practice over a period of at least three years. Furthermore, identification with the university's sustainability aspirations is a prerequisite.
