Construction Technician IV: $5,587 per month
Construction Technician III: $5,008 per month*
Construction Technician II: $4,505 per month*
Construction Technician I: $4,131 per month*

Summary of Work
Are you a tech-savvy individual who loves working outdoors? Do you have a passion for construction and engineering? Then we want you to join our team as a Construction Technician/Engineering Technician!
As our new team member, you will be responsible for conducting field inspections for all types of construction projects, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and contract documents. You'll get to work with cutting-edge equipment like Robotic Total Station and GPS, and use Microstation and Geopack programs to measure, calculate, and print reports and cross-sections. You'll also get to perform daily tests and prepare forms for all types of projects to ensure materials are within NDDOT specifications.
But that's not all! You'll have the opportunity to assist project engineers with checking and organizing project final records, as well as with district design work that requires the use of Microstation. And don't worry, we'll make sure you have all the necessary training and support to excel in these tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered a Construction/Engineering Tech IV, six years’ work experience related to the engineering technician duties listed. College-level course work and/or degree in an engineering or related field reflecting the required abilities for this position may be substituted for the required work experience on a year-for-year basis.
To be considered for a Construction/Engineering Technician III, you must have at least four years of work experience related to the engineering technician duties listed.College-level coursework and/or degree in an engineering or related field reflecting the required abilities for this position may be substituted for the required work experience on a year-for-year basis.
To be considered a Construction/Engineering Tech II, you must have a High School diploma or GED, and two years of related work experience. College-level coursework and/or degree in an engineering or related field may substitute for work requirement on a year-for-year basis.
To be considered a Construction/Engineering Technician I, you must have successful completion of a High School diploma or GED and demonstrated knowledge of fundamental math concepts.
At any level, you'll need to be able to work in all types of weather on a variety of uneven or slippery surfaces, have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and carry several items with a total weight of 50 pounds, and have a valid North Dakota Class D driver’s license in order to travel to project locations.
