The position is initially limited for 3 years as part of the DFG project RE 3881/6-1 "Piled rafts under cyclic horizontal loading" in accordance with § 2 paragraph 1 WissZeitVG. The possibility of obtaining a PhD is provided.
Tasks:
1. Participation in the above-mentioned project, in particular: Conduction of small-scale model testsConduction of soil mechanical laboratory tests (including cyclic triaxial tests)Conduction of numerical simulations with the finite element method (FEM)
Requirements:
2. Good or very good Master’s or Diploma degree in civil engineering. The required degree must be obtained by the recruitment date at the latest.
3. Excellent knowledge of geotechnical engineering
4. Good to very good knowledge in the application of numerical methods in geotechnical engineering, especially FEM
5. Experience in conducting and evaluating soil mechanical laboratory tests
6. Very good knowledge of English, both written and spoken
Advantageous are:
7. Good knowledge of German, both written and spoken
8. Particularly high motivation, independent working style and sense of responsibility
9. Good knowledge in the use of the FEM software ABAQUS, NUMGEO or Tochnog Professional including the integration of UMATs
10. Knowledge of the material behaviour of soils under cyclic loading
11. Knowledge of the bearing behaviour of foundations under cyclic loading
12. Experience in conducting and evaluating model tests
