DESCRIPTION
OmniAccess is looking for an IT Technician to join our energetic team in Germany. He/she will be working exclusively in the IT Team of one of OmniAccess' most important clients.
The IT onboard operations Team guarantees a seamless operation of a fleet of River Ships cruising in Europe. The Team manages the entire IT Infrastructure including, but not limited to, Satellite Internet, TVRO, Network and WiFi Infrastructure, iTV System, Windws Servers and Clients.
In this role, you'll oversee the IT operations onboard, utilizing technologies such as Windows Server 2022/2019, Hyper-V, iDRAC, Active Directory (AD), DHCP, DNS, Trunk & VLAN, Citrix & Xendesktop, SCVMM, and Proxmox.
Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the well-being and satisfaction of our river cruise ship guests and internal clients. This includes the regular monitoring, maintenance, and implementation of new IT solutions across our fleet. The ability to engage confidently and effectively with end-users is crucial, as you will provide direct support and ensure that all technology-related needs are addressed promptly and efficiently.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
* Perform daily operations as detailed in Run Books and other technical documents to be provided during training.
* Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
* Verify that any back-up procedures are carried out and have been verified as successful in line with employee IT policies.
* Maintain operational, configuration, or other policies and procedures as instructed.
* Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.
* Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
* Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment.
* Maintain appropriate hardware inventory levels, ensure that all IT equipment is in good working condition, including PCs, printers, point of sale systems, servers and related hardware.
* Provide basic user training and support in use of common PC software and specialized property management software as needed.
* Monitor and support the satellite communication systems to ensure that the system is operating to optimum performance.
* Align with the teams and IT vendors for our newbuild ships in construction yards and oversee the new build deployment progress.
* Relief of your team member.

REQUISITOS MÍNIMOS
REQUIREMENTS
Essential Requirements:
* Willingness to relocate to Germany (Passau or Regensburg area) for the upcoming 2 years.
* Pertinent work authorization for Germany is required.
Knowledge and Experience:
* Associate degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
* Proficiency in English. German language skills would also be a plus.
* A minimum of 2 years practical, hands-on experience in a similar role (e.g. System Administrator).
* Good experience with Windows 2019-2022 installation and administration.
* Domain of Active Directory features (DHCP, DNS) and with Failover clusters.
* Ability to troubleshoot and repair PC and printer hardware.
* Good understanding of LAN and WLAN networking.
* Hands on experience installing hardware and software.
* Experience with VMWare VSphere, Hyper-V, XenDesktop and Proxmox.
* Good PowerShell knowledge.
* Good knowledge in PowerEdge Dell servers’ series.
* Excellent time management.
* Excellent attitude and interpersonal skills.
* Follow directives of onboard management to adhere to all behavioral, safety and other rules for crew members and keep onboard management informed of any IT issues and policies that affect shipboard operations in their areas of responsibility.
