Job Description Assembles mechanical units, fabricated parts/components and/or electrical/electronic systems to make subassemblies, assemblies or complete units using hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures and miscellaneous equipment | Fits, aligns, calibrates and adjusts parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product operating requirements | Diagnoses and repairs faults within malfunctioning customer return units, rework units or products that have failed to meet requirements SPECIALIST CAREER BAND: Performs various types of specialist roles, including: technical tasks required to support operations (e.g., IT development, research support, skilled trade), clerical/administrative or specialized support tasks in an office, field or retail store/site setting, operational or manual tasks, primarily in manufacturing, supply chain or operational environments. Typically requires vocational training or the equivalent experience at senior levels, and may require external certification but typically does not require a university degree. May have limited direct reports, but spends the majority of their time on their personal contributions to work. SPECIALIST LEVEL C: Full proficiency in a range of processes or procedures (or deep skills in a single area) through job-related training and considerable work experience. Completes a range of support / operational work assignments with limited supervision. Works within defined processes and procedures or methodologies and may help determine the appropriate approach for new assignments. Acts as an informal resource for employees with less experience and may lead a team performing routine tasks. SPECIALIST SUB-LEVEL C1: Performs moderately complex and varied tasks. May support the development of solutions to complex problems of a recurring nature. Guides junior team members.
