We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Accounting team based in Hamburg, reporting into the Director of Financial Reporting & Accounting. Our team is responsible for the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual IFRS financial accounts as well as for local standalone financial statements and external reporting for all Vista entities in Germany. Gain a detailed understanding of the Group’s business with particular emphasis on the assigned areas of responsibility as well as the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting timeframes, processes, and systems.Take ownership of the monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting tasks for the assigned entities or areas of responsibility, including but not limited to review and reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts, preparation of financial statements, completeness of accruals and prepayments, ensuring proper cost allocation and capitalization etc.Provide management with explanations and analysis to support the costs, revenue or balances as may be required from time to time.Provide external auditors with documentation, explanations, and analysis as necessary to assist with the smooth execution of annual audits.Assist in documenting and updating of internal processes and procedures as necessary and contribute to the overall development and continuous improvement of such processes through feedback and active participation.Providing guidance to the finance team, acting as a leader and deputizing where required for the Accounting Manager.Supporting and actively involved in continuous improvement initiatives to standardize and improve processes, reporting and controls, and implement best practice.Preparing ad hoc reports on matters relevant to the business as required by Vista Group and the local Management from time to time.Understand the overall finance team objectives and assist team members as necessary in the wider interest of the team and its overall goals.A minimum of 3-5 years relevant working experience post qualification, preferably within an international organisation.Have a strong understanding of German accounting rules (HGB) and preferrable IFRS-standards.Proficient in the use of SAP and Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel.Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail whilst delivering to tight deadlines. Excellent analytical, logical and communication skills.Able to make sense of the numbers and challenge the data, seeking and offering explanations.Fluency in written and spoken German and English.Knowledge of and/or experience in the Aviation sector will be considered an asset.
