Protestant Gospel Service Music AccompanistThe successful candidate for this position will be a 1099 contractor with Music MinistryInternational and be responsible for the following:1. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES:This worship leader provides the music activities for the Ramstein Protestant Gospel Service (RGS). Accompanist-ship includes, but is not limited to training, scheduling, and processing music for liturgies within the RGS service.2. WORK HOURS:2.1. Times for performance may vary throughout the week. Unless otherwise directed and approved by the Chaplain or designee, normal hours of performance shall be limited to service specific requirements such as the Protestant Gospel Service, rehearsals, and special services. Special services include, but are not limited to: Memorial services, Funeral services, combined services, faith specific holidays, and occasional support for special events.2.2. Arrive at least 60 minutes prior to the beginning of worship services and special services, and 15 minutes prior to the beginning of each rehearsal.2.3. The length of the rehearsals shall be a minimum of one (1) hour, not to exceed three (3) hours. Any time spent immediately prior to the worship service or event is considered part of the worship service, and not a separate rehearsal.3. QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:3.1. Have 2 or more years of college in music (or related field), or equivalent years of related experience in a chapel/church setting.3.2. Be able to skillfully play an instrument (e.g. electric keyboard or acoustic guitar).3.3. Be able to sight read, arrange, improvise, play, and score music.3.4. Play music in keeping with a Protestant, Gospel style, music service.4. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:4.1. Provide music and choir support weekly for the RGS service at Ramstein Air Base Chapel.4.2. Provide musical support for a minimum of 1 rehearsal and 1 Worship Service each week.4.3. Rehearsals shall be held at an appropriate time to allow for maximum participation amongst its members.4.4. Collaborate musical selections with the Chaplain and Music Director.4.5. Assist the Chaplain or designated representative in developing the following in regards to music Accompanist programs as appropriate: annual calendar of events, Chapel tithes and offerings fund budget, appropriated fund budget, and core volunteer training requirements.4.6. Return any and all government owned music scores and equipment obtained in the performance of the required duties following the last service provided under the contract.4.7. Not engage in the unauthorized duplication of copyrighted materials by photocopying or any other means that would expose the government to liability for penalties under existing or future copyright laws4.8. Play assigned music from a religious music, ecclesiastical, or suitable type publication resource consistent with the nature of the RGS.4.9. Arrange, improve, and score such music as appropriate for compatibility with the type of worship service or other functions of the Chaplain’s program at which it was rendered.Interested Candidates are requested to forward their resume together with three references from individuals who can attest to the candidate’s good work and steadiness.
