As a specialty provider of primary insurance services, Great Lakes Insurance SE with its branches in the UK, Australia, Switzerland, Italy, and Ireland and its subsidiary in the UK, is an integral part of Munich Re Group and an important enabler for Specialty Insurance Business (GSI – Global Specialty Insurance) closely connected to Munich Re’s reinsurance core business.
To strengthen our Integrated Risk Management team, we are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual in Munich as part of the global Great Lakes enterprise risk management function. You will be part of the non-financial risk management team located over Munich and London and contribute to perform non-financial risk management with a focus on information security and third party risk management. The role will work in close collaboration with responsible business units as well as with the Group Integrated Risk Management department in MR.
This position offers exciting challenges and insights within Great Lakes, Munich Re AG and other Global Specialty Insurance units, with exposure to top management, regulatory bodies as well as a network of specialists within Munich Re (MR). You will be part of a dynamic and diverse team.
Your Job
* Identifying, measuring, monitoring, controlling and reporting non-financial risks with a focus on information security and third party risks.
* Performing the annual operational risk management cycle for other non-financial risks, including the implementation of the operational risk and control system (ORCS) and the assessment of the operational risk scenarios.
* Qualitative risk management and risk analyses, including identification of emerging risks and management of risk events.
* Contributing to the regulatory and internal risk reporting cycles.
* Contributing to Business Continuity Management.
* Ensuring ongoing appropriate risk governance by maintaining documentation and approval procedures.
* Contributing to the use test of the capital model for the non-financial risks, including performing stress and scenario testing and providing risk opinions on risk-taking decisions under consideration of the risk bearing capacity of the Company.
* Managing stakeholders and the wider embedment of the non-financial risk management framework at local as well as at group level.
* Fulfilling regulatory requirements and ad hoc studies, participating in projects.
Your Profile
* University degree in a relevant discipline and/or professional insurance, risk management, information security.
* Experience in risk management in (re-)insurance or related fields.
* Excellent analytical and conceptual skills combined with the ability to explain and present on senior management level.
* Working collaboratively and effectively in an international group dynamic and in a hybrid set-up.
* Experience in the areas of IT architecture, IT infrastructure, and information security is a plus.
* Strong written and verbal communication in English and German skills at least at an intermediate level.
