Brief Role Description
In the "Virtual Engineering Solutions" sub-department within Volkswagen Group Innovation, virtual methods from various disciplines are further developed for the design and optimisation of current and future vehicle generations. The aim is to transfer the enhanced tools to the respective development departments of the brands. In the "Human Body Modeling Team", we further develop finite element (FE) human body models with the major focus on improving their biofidelity, among other aspects, in order to be able to answer complex questions in the field of vehicle safety. As part of your internship you will support us in this working environment.
Possible Tasks within this Role
Specifically, you will deal with the further processing of experimentally obtained data for the validation of our active human body models. In order to perform this task, you will first analyse data from existing experiments, such as kinematics from video recordings, force and acceleration curves etc.. In the next step you will analyse the data in more detail applying statistical methods.
