* Support plants for technical improvements and developments, particularly on upstream processing (melting, scrap management, casting) and to optimize the casting process and related operations from molten metal to final cast product of Aluminium wrought alloys
* Focus is on maintaining the quality while increasing the recycling content
* Coordinate and align with different production facilities, gather and share best practices
* Cast house data analysis, interpretation of the results and proposals of improved production schedules and practices
* Support integration of scrap into our processes by optimizing the scrap performance, adapting loading practices, furnace setting, metal cleanliness, scrap blending into furnaces, optimize production cycles and melt quality
* Defining and conducting pilot and industrial scale trials and implementation of improvement, and process optimization projects
* Support recycling friendly alloy development initiatives
* Working in interdisciplinary teams inside Speira as well as in the international scientific community
Qualifications that will get you ahead
* Bachelor in Material Science or Metallurgy
* At least 5 years of relevant experiences in the industrial environment in the Aluminium sector as well as in melting and casting processes
* Very good knowledge of liquid Aluminium processing, including scrap management, melting, alloying, casting, metal cleanliness and metal quality
* Understanding cast houses processes (scrap blending, melting, casting, melt cleaning, melt treatments) and knowledge on how to optimize them
* Knowledge of DC casting, rolling process or rolled Aluminium products as well as understanding scrap sorting and pretreatments would be advantageous
* Strong coordination skills and proactivity working method
* High motivation to work in interdisciplinary teams
* Willingness for a certain amount of business travel
* Skills in project management
* Fluent in German and good level in English
