We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced EMEA Customs Manager - Customs Procedures (m/f/diverse) to join our team in Hannover, Germany. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing customs procedures across the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and facilitating smooth cross-border operations. - Develop and implement customs strategies and procedures for the EMEA region - Manage and coordinate customs clearance processes for imports and exports - Ensure compliance with customs regulations and international trade laws across EMEA countries - Analyze and interpret complex customs regulations to minimize risks and optimize trade operations - Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to streamline customs processes - Monitor changes in customs regulations and update company procedures accordingly - Provide expert guidance on customs-related matters to various business units - Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to customs policies and procedures - Manage relationships with customs authorities and represent the company in customs-related matters - Lead and mentor a team of customs specialists, fostering a culture of continuous improvement - Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field or comparable qualification - Professional certification in customs and trade compliance (e.g., Certified Customs Specialist) - Several years experience in customs management or related field, with a focus on EMEA region - In-depth knowledge of EMEA customs regulations and international trade agreements - Proven track record of successfully implementing and optimizing customs processes - Strong expertise in customs documentation, compliance, and risk management - Advanced proficiency in customs management software and Microsoft Office Suite - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach - Strong leadership and team management abilities - Fluency in English; additional European languages are a plus - Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment - Willingness to travel within the EMEA region as required (approx. 20%) Applications from severely handicapped people are welcome.
