You will collaborate closely with leadership and all departments to create an engaging, inclusive, and high-performing work environment. As the sole operational HR contact, you will oversee all aspects of the employee experience, from onboarding to payroll and development.

Your responsibilities
* Ownership: As the sole operational HR professional, you will take ownership of the entire HR function, ensuring efficient and effective processes.
* Working on a strategical as well as an operational level.
* Onboarding: Organize and conduct onboarding processes for new employees, ensuring a smooth integration into the company.
* Feel Good Management: Drive the creation of a great work environment, plan and organize team events & act as the go-to person for employees
* Employee Development: Establish structures for regular feedback rounds, support team managers in developing their teams, and foster continuous professional growth.
* Administrative HR: Coordinate with the external tax office to ensure smooth and accurate payroll processing.
* Create and manage employment contracts, maintain employee records, and ensure compliance with labor laws.
* Recruiting: Manage and guide external recruiting partners to ensure we hire and retain top talent.
About you
* Experience: At least 5 years of experience in HR, with a broad understanding of diverse HR topics; ideally gained in startups or scale-ups of various sizes
* Expertise: Proven experience in People Operations, managing feedback cycles, and building HR structures in a growing company
* Work Style: Self-reliant, proactive, and able to ensure a steady employee experience in a dynamic environment.
* Mindset: Growth mindset with a passion for continuous learning and openness to new technologies
* Personality: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine passion for working with people—open, approachable, and always ready to help
* Languages: Fluent in English and German
About us
The AI startup Xayn develops Noxtua, Europe’s first sovereign Legal AI. Noxtua helps lawyers analyze and draft legal documents and research legal questions while being legally competent and compliant. Hosted in the EU, Noxtua meets high standards of confidentiality in handling client data, professional secrecy (e.g. Section 203 German Criminal Code, Section 43e German Federal Code for Lawyers), and European data protection. Noxtua is powered by specialized proprietary AI models. The models are trained with high-quality legal data provided by the Legal AI Alliance which the tech startup Xayn initiated with the international business law firm CMS. This makes Noxtua the secure, independent, and specialized European Legal AI.
The Berlin-based AI company Xayn was born out of research at Oxford University and Imperial College London by Dr Leif-Nissen Lundbæk and Professor Michael Huth. Founded in 2017, Xayn’s academic vision remains, with a workforce comprised of approx. 30% PhDs. The startup has received investment funding of 19.5 million EURO from Global Brain Corporation, KDDI Open Innovation Fund, Earlybird, and Dominik Schiener.
