Our Batteries team plays a crucial role in driving innovation and advancing sustainability in energy storage. As we expand our efforts, we are seeking a talented Manager of Batteries to lead this dynamic, multi-disciplinary team and drive the strategic development of standalone energy storage solutions.
Our focus is on developing large-scale battery storage projects that are essential for balancing the grid and integrating renewable energy sources. This includes projects such as Krümmel and Brunsbüttel, as well as supporting other business units with expertise in storage solutions. While the Development phase is central to this role, you will also shape solutions for construction and provide support for operational handovers.
What will you do?
As the Director of Batteries, you will:
* Develop Large Batteries: Continue the development of two large battery sites at former Vattenfall power stations and secure the building permit.
* Sponsor Key Projects: Act as the sponsor for battery storage projects, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and driving success from concept to implementation.
* Lead a Multi-Disciplinary Team: Manage and inspire a team of project managers, commercial specialists, and technical experts, fostering collaboration and excellence.
* Set Strategies and Priorities: Define the roadmap for the Batteries team, balancing immediate project needs with long-term goals for innovation and growth.
* Support Cross-Functional Efforts: Collaborate across Vattenfall to provide expertise on energy storage and engage with other Business Areas to champion storage solutions.
* Drive Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, identify sponsors within the organization, and promote storage topics to key decision-makers.
* Facilitate Development: Focus on the Development phase while designing solutions for Construction and supporting seamless transitions to Operations.
Location
The location of this position is flexible, preferably in a Vattenfall/BA Wind main location (GER/NL). Regular business trips are required.
