Among our projects: the biggest collaborative ground segment of Europe ( and the Data Archival, Management and Processing Services (DAMPS) for ESA ( ) that covers together the 80 % of ESA EO data, the systematic production of Sentinel-3A data and the reprocessing of Sentinel 2, so far the biggest reprocessing of the history.
Thanks to cutting-edge expertise in Remote Sensing, Data Analytics and ICT, the company offers algorithms and processes for Big Data Mining and Data Transformations along with high performing and cost-effective solutions such as multi-Petabytes archives, intuitive geoportals and efficient processing solutions in cloud and/or HPC environment.
The company owns a relevant infrastructure with reference disk storage capacity of 70 PB and a computing cluster with almost 1 Petaflops capacity. To meet the needs of its clients the infrastructure hosts multiple kinds of environment ranging from dedicated HPC solution to multi-hybrid cloud solutions.
The position
To manage its “Development” team, adwäisEO is looking for a talented Development Team Leader/Architect to lead the current team of 4 people, hire additional 2 developers and design applications and services for data management and data analytics based on Earth Observations. He will work closely with the CTO of the company.
The Role:
* Lead the Dev Team managing priorities and resources towards successful project delivery.
* Provide technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship.
* Architect software platforms meeting client requirements in terms of functions and performance.
* Design
* Interfaces for repatriation, and dissemination of satellite data.
* Processing chains for satellite derived products
* Job orchestration in an HPC/cloud environment.
* Web applications such as geo-portal for dissemination and discovery EO data.
* Collaborate on the redaction of project proposal and documentation.
* Problem-solving and risk management.
* Continuous improvement & change management.
* Assure the maintenance and improvement of existing applications and platforms.
Must Have Requirements
* Degree in Computer Science or similar.
* More than 5 years of experience in a similar position mandatory.
* Excellent command of Python and NodeJS
* Excellent command of SQL (PostgreSQL preferred).
* Good command of Docker and microservices
* Good knowledge of Linux command line.
* Knowledge of ReactJS or AngularJS.
* Knowledge of JavaScript and CSS.
* Excellent English skills (both spoken and written);
* Good command of control version tools (i.e. GitLab, GitHub);
* Good command of CD/CI techniques and tools
* Flexibility to handle new tasks and challenges.
* Willing to learn.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Proactive.
* Valid work permit for EU.
Being considered as a plus:
* French knowledge.
