About the Role:
You are a Medical Affairs Leader who leverages your clinical training to develop a strategy to drive key partnerships with clinicians, hospitals, private and public payors, and pharmaceutical companies in existing and new markets for Guardant Health. You will build, train, and motivate existing partners that have a presence in each targeted country of the international region in Europe, Canada, and Latin America. You are adept at engaging Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) at target institutions for developing evidence to support clinical and reimbursement objectives. Your scientific background and oncology knowledge enable you to deliver technical presentations on relevant Guardant Health products to potential and current customers and to participate in the cultivation and development of global and regional KOLs. You further identify additional opportunities and potential clinical partnerships that can assist in strengthening Guardant Health’s technologies globally. You develop new strategies and implement them to obtain higher clinical and research use of Guardant Health´s portfolio. You support global evidence generation, for example, leading regional engagement with the US-based Medical Affairs, Research & Development teams in expanding scientific cooperation opportunities from Europe, Canada, and Latin America and supporting the development, implementation, and follow-up of these projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* A key member of the International Management Team and Global Medical Affairs leadership team.
* Leads team of Medical Science Liaisons, responsible for Medical Affairs P&L, regional study budgets.
* Creates the strategy to maintain and enhance relationships with regional physician leaders to promote the use of advanced diagnostics, reimbursement, adoption, and use of Guardant Health products.
* Development of partnerships with Key Oncologists and public health leaders in leading medical centers to advance precision oncology, create evidence to support adoption and reimbursement of Guardant liquid biopsy technologies in international countries.
* Identification and development of academic centers and public-private partners who will support adoption and reimbursement with in-country laboratories and healthcare systems partnerships.
* Works effectively with cross-functional internal Guardant Health Marketing, Regulatory, and Market Access teams.
* Cooperate with the Biopharma team in the European territory to engage in CDx development and clinical testing consortia.
* Present national and regional clinical utility data to private and public payors.
* Working with established European business partners to support the go-to-market strategy in targeted countries.
* Contributes to the growth of Guardant Health revenue in conjunction with the international team, pharma, and regional distributors.
* Collaborate with the General Manager, EUAA VP, to help drive corporate and commercial targets with the commercial partners.
* Develop new Medical Affairs partnerships that drive the pharma and sales/marketing/reimbursement channels.
* Contribute to organic growth in certain direct accounts.
* Train and develop plans to educate new international team members about Guardant Health´s test portfolio, workflows, and support them in preparing and following their in-country action plans.
* Train new international MSL members of the team in case reviews and scientific data about Guardant Health. Provide them with tools to work independently and autonomously in front of their customers.
Minimum Requirements:
* Minimum 15 years’ medical affairs experience in Europe.
* Background in oncology diagnostics/life sciences and biopharmaceutical development.
* Previous strategic Medical Affairs business experience collaborating with international partners and leading Medical Affairs teams in Europe with a successful track record.
* Lead KOL relationships in oncology (e.g., lungs, GI cancers, breast) in Europe.
* Results-oriented, self-starter with superior interpersonal communication and presentation skills, excellent sales skills including listening, negotiating, and closing are important.
* Must be based in Europe.
* Fluency in English and at least one other European language/s expected.
* Significant travel expected, including congresses, training, and other company events, also to the U.S.
Education: Advanced degree in Life Science minimum (MD preferred)
The Europe (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, or UK) base salary range for this full-time position is Є192,600 to Є288,900. The range does not include benefits, and if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries across all European locations for the posted role with the exception of any locations specifically referenced below (if any).
