Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Level Designer who will work closely with our Content Designers (Scripters) and our Art Director to create immersive levels that blend artistic quality with gameplay design.
Some of your responsibilities:
1. Design, build and maintain levels until release
2. Partner with Content Designers (Scripters) and Writers who will provide narration, game ideas and scripting and collaborate with the Environment Artists who provide art support for textures, final models, VFX, etc.
3. Grey-boxing / Prototyping
4. Lighting – for both player navigation and mood
5. Set dressing and asset placement/environmental storytelling
6. Performance Evaluation and Optimization for Levels
Desired qualifications:
7. Experience as a level designer in a professional environment (exceptions are made for large & complex great modding projects) with RTS/RPG games
8. Strong eye for interesting architectural spaces – and mindful of variation in volumes, circulation, lighting, detail distribution and scene composition
9. Experience in using current generation 3D level editing tools
10. Excellent eye for details
11. Good sense for interesting landscapes
12. Good communication skills
13. Good documentation skills
14. Understand basic concepts of game programming
15. Capable of identifying and supporting gameplay needs and constraints within a game level
16. Understanding of modular construction methods as it relates to design, memory and performance
17. Passion for real-time strategy and/or roleplaying games is welcomed
18. Applicants must be authorized to work in Germany/E.U
