BASF invites PhD and Postdoctoral candidates, with the potential to take leading roles in the future, to a week-long International Summer Course in Ludwigshafen, Germany. Candidates should be working in chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, chemical engineering, process engineering or STEM fields with interests in digital technologies.
Important notice: The registration and participation at the International Summer Course 2025 does not result in a work contract for an internship.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
The course is an opportunity to:
* Get insights into industry, BASF and experience the worldwide network of innovation
* Learn about methods, strategies and digital technologies in research and development, engineering, production, marketing, corporate strategy and management
* Meet participants from around the world, BASF's scientists, engineers and executives

* PhD and Postdoctoral candidates of the following areas:
o Chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, chemical engineering, process engineering or STEM fields with interest in digital technologies

WHAT WE OFFER
The BASF International Summer Course has a long tradition: Organised since 1949, it is designed to give emerging talent from around the world an authentic insight into the company's working environment and to facilitate networking opportunities.
This year's event will take place from the 24th to the 30th of August, 2025, in Ludwigshafen, Germany. Participants will have the opportunity to explore a diverse range of research and technology topics, as well as delve into strategy and innovation management areas. The program will give the candidates a comprehensive understanding of BASF's operations and the opportunity to interact with BASF colleagues. In small groups, participants will visit labs and offices to get an idea of what it is like to be a lab team leader, chemical engineer or data scientist. A guided tour of the site and plant visits will provide a deeper understanding of the Verbund site concept.
Overall, the BASF International Summer Course offers the participants a unique opportunity to gain first-hand experience within a leading chemical company, a chance to broaden their knowledge across various fields and establish valuable contacts with professionals at BASF.
