Frankfurt International School is looking for a qualified and motivated full time Primary School Teaching Assistant (first steps) with early childhood setting experience effective 1 August 2025. The position is initially termed for two years until 31 July 2027. The purpose of this role is To provide support to the teacher To provide support to the students so they may achieve at their highest positive level Performance Responsibilities: The duties of the position will include, but will not be limited to those on the list which follows: Assist students requiring help in any curricular area Reinforce discipline within the classroom and school in general Duplicate materials according to agreed procedures Organize materials to be used for a lesson Organize and maintain supply cupboards Organize, collate, etc. report cards Put up/take down bulletin boards Supervise students as requested Attend grade level meetings as requested Accompany and assist, when requested, with field trips Substitute for an absent teacher as needed Comply with any other reasonable request made by the principal General Expectations A certain degree of balance needs to be worked out between teacher and teacher assistant. It is important to recognize that working relations vary depending on numerous factors. It must be noted however that while there is room for various approaches to the partnership, in general the clerical time should not dominate any teacher assistant´s day. The teacher assistant is expected to: Conduct him/herself in a professional way, when dealing with colleagues, parents and students at all times Support the school´s philosophy and general educational principles Report pertinent information about students to the appropriate teacher Demonstrate the ability to work with children Speak English fluently Applicants should hold a valid work and residence permit for Germany.
