We are looking for an experienced Channel Manger to join our team in Munich.
The Channel Manger, will work in collaboration with internal and external customers to provide guidance, direction, and support in the development of merchandise, initial item inventory levels and forecasts, ladder plans, product assortments, pricing, and promotional strategies to drive sales. Responsible for managing and selling to assigned accounts, achieving/exceeding revenue and contribution margin goals, building and maintaining customer relationships, and working cross-functionally.
JOB SCOPE AND MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Build new partnerships with strategic retailers and grow POS with existing ones, through developing joint business plans and driving insights-driven initiatives. Negotiate appropriate merchandising programs with key accounts and buyers
2. Deliver best-in-class go-to-market plans, and ensure excellence in execution – project management.
3. Sales responsibilities for all FGX categories in assigned set of customers or market channel.
4. Forecast sales, monitor results through regular weekly/monthly/quarterly meetings with management and other functions. Forecast seasonal credits related to product returns and inventory markdowns
5. Preparation and presentation of strategies, sales analysis, and product for account meetings
6. Develop, implement, and sell-in merchandising programs; including product assortments, pricing
7. Visit assigned stores to evaluate overall assortment, monitor competitive activity and products; make recommendations to drive growth
8. Send product samples and sales collateral to current and prospective accounts
9. Work collaboratively with Trade Marketing and other functions to develop and present initiatives, and manage the P&L: with Product Development on design styling, sourcing, pricing and product, with Marketing to produce POS/POP displays, with Product Supply to ensure availability and timely delivery, and with Finance & Cost Accounting on proforma models
TECHNICAL SKILLS - PORTRAIT OF A PERFECT CANDIDATE
10. Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of wholesale experience, preferably in the German retail landscape
11. Proven track record with Key Account Management with a focus on drugstore/health/non-food assortments
12. Computer skills including strong knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
13. Retail math literacy and application of concepts to daily operations
14. Strong financial acumen with functioning understanding of P&L
15. Excellent analytical skills, strong business and project management skills
16. Account Management skills: establish productive relationships, strong presentation & negotiation skills, strategic thinking, able to interpret corporate strategies into trade activation programs, ability to forecast
17. Strong interpersonal & communication skills, ability to work cross-functionally
18. Highly motivated self-starter individual, with career growth aspirations; ability to operate independently, manage multiple projects in parallel and able to create functional structures
