Bioinformatician / Statistician (m/f/d) - OMICs in rheumatic diseases, statistical evaluation of clinical databases, planning for clinical trials
We are seeking a highly motivated bioinformatician / statistician with experience in all of the following areas:
the evaluation of different OMICs datasets (including bulk and sc RNASeq, imaging mass cytometry, cyclic in situ hybridization, spatial transcriptomics), the integration of different OMICs
statistical evaluation of biomedical databases, if possible, with pre-experience in rheumatologic diseases
statistical planning (e.g. power calculations) for clinical trials
Programming in different computer languages, i.p. “R”
Presentation of the results: Publications, oral presentations
The major goal of our group is to characterize pathogenic mechanisms of chronic inflammatory diseases associated with tissue remodeling, and to identify novel treatment strategies for these diseases.
We are an international research group with members from different backgrounds, including biologists and clinicians, and with close collaborations with researchers from other fields such as bioinformatics, which ensures an interdisciplinary environment. We have unrestricted access to state-of-the-art technologies including next generation sequencing, mass cytometry, advanced imaging techniques. The position is evaluated according to E 13 Tv-L. In accordance to the employment prerequisites of § 44 Abs. 4 Hochschulgesetz NRW, the applicant should have a PhD degree at the time of application, or be in the concrete finalizing stages, with the perspective of obtaining the PhD degree within six months after application.
The employment contract is concluded with Heinrich Heine University.
