Our department is responsible for the passive safety of Mercedes-Benz vehicles in the S-Class, E-Class, C-Class, Roadster and AMG series.
Our aim is to provide the highest level of occupant protection. The basis for this is not only a vehicle body with a rigid passenger cell and defined crumple zones, but also the development of state-of-the-art occupant restraint systems.
In addition to functional responsibility for passive safety in the overall vehicle, the "Passive Safety & AMG Restraint Systems" team also has component responsibility for the airbag and seat belt components and coordinates these restraint system components to ensure the best possible occupant protection in the overall system.
This includes, among other things, cooperation and coordination in the:
1. Body shell structure development using CAE calculation
2. Development of airbags, seat belts and belt buckles, including the fulfillment of all qualifications with the component supplier
3. Planning and execution of complete vehicle crash tests
4. Analysis of sled/crash tests
You will face these challenges:
5. Support in project management with regard to the development of the airbag and seatbelt component with the system supplier in Germany and abroad and generally in project work with the specialist departments involved
6. Collaboration in the planning, support and evaluation of development tests
7. Collaboration in series projects and in the preparation of benchmark studies in the field of restraint systems (airbag and seat belt components)
Qualifikationen
8. Degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering or a comparable course of study
9. Proficient in written and spoken German and English
10. Confident handling of MS Office
11. Commitment and ability to work in a team
12. Analytical mindset and strategic way of working
13. Good communication skills
