RWE Supply & Trading GmbH To start as soon as possible, full time / part time, permanent About the role Accounting at RWE Supply & Trading GmbH (RWEST) encompasses the accounting of commodity issues within the global RWE trading business and the segment statements of RWE Supply & Trading. Within the Commodity Accounting function, the Trading, Gas, and LNG teams are responsible for closing the trading desks, while the Exchanges team serves as the central accounting hub for all exchange-related topics worldwide. As part of the Exchanges team, your responsibilities include: Actively participating in and driving the monthly and quarterly closing processes for exchange accounting, as well as efficiently managing transactions between trading desks (Interdesk) within RWEST, with a particular focus on electricity, gas, and CO2. Leading projects for the continuous development of the end-to-end (E2E) exchange process in collaboration with back office clearing and other stakeholders. Supporting new product processes and company-wide projects (e.g., liquidity measures, onboarding of new stock exchanges or international RWE subsidiaries). Contributing to and driving projects in cooperation with other RWEST accounting teams. Analysing and internally reporting on margin and cash balances. Handling management requests and acting as a point of contact for auditors. Preparing reports for foreign trade regulation notifications and further developing internal processes (e.g., Z10, supporting Z4). Job requirements and experience 3 years of experience in accounting or clearing within the energy sector, commodity trading business, or banking, ideally with a strong focus on to commodity exchange-traded products. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Business Administration, Business Informatics, Business Engineering, or a related field. Proficient user knowledge of Microsoft Access, Microsoft Power Query/Power BI, or PL/SQL for processing and analysing large datasets. In-depth understanding of how exchanges, derivatives, and margining work. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAP FI. Strong analytical, independent, and solution-oriented approach to work, with excellent organizational skills. Fluent skills in English; proficiency in German is a plus. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities effectively. Advantageous, but not essential Knowledge of industry-specific software and tools used in commodity accounting and trading or to analyse data. Proven experience in leading and managing internal projects aimed at improving processes and data quality. Experience with risk management and financial reporting in the context of commodity trading and exchanges.
